Google pauses purchases in Google Play for users in Russia

MOSCOW, Mar 10 (PRIME) -- Google will suspend purchases in applications store Google Play for users from Russia soon after international payment systems Visa and Mastercard halted their work in the country, the IT giant said on Thursday in a statement.

“Due to disrupted work of the payment systems, we will pause the payment system of Google Play for users in Russia in the nearest days,” Google said.

Russian users will not be able to buy applications and games, pay for subscriptions or purchase digital goods in applications via Google Play. Free applications will stay available in Play Store.
